I’ve seen hundreds of headshots cross my desk in the past couple of years and some tend to stand out more than others. If you want an eye-popping headshot that really draws attention, here are some simple tips to achieve that!
If asked to submit a headshot, don’t submit a full body shot.
Find a great Background – something neutral.
Pay attention to the lighting! Whether it’s natural light or artificial light, make sure your face is well-lit and consider the direction of your light.
Choose an outfit with colors that pop with your complexion.
Focus on your eyes – they’re the most important part of the headshot. Make sure you don’t have shadows and they’re well-lit.
Provide a color headshot unless asked for Black & White.
