The holiday season is here and it’s fun to add in a game here or there to make life a little more joyful! Whether you teach dance or are just looking for a fun dance game to play this season, here are five ideas to consider:
Dance Charades: This game is played like regular charades, but instead of acting out a word or phrase, the player must dance it out. It’s a fun way to challenge yourself to come up with creative ways to convey different concepts through movement.
Freeze Dance: This classic dance game involves playing music and having everyone dance until the music suddenly stops. When the music stops, everyone must freeze in place. Anyone who moves after the music stops is out. The last dancer standing wins!
Dance Relay: Divide into teams and set up an obstacle course to have a relay through. Each team member must complete a short dance sequence before tagging the next person to go. The first team to complete the relay wins.
Name That Tune: This game involves playing short clips of music and having players guess the song title or artist. For added difficulty, you can require players to dance the style of dance that matches the song.
Dance Battle: Choose a partner and take turns showing off your best dance moves. The other person must then try to one-up you with their own moves. Keep going until someone runs out of ideas or messes up their dance.
